Alan Gardener is an award-winning garden designer and horticulturalist. But he's no ordinary gardener. Alan credits his success to what he calls "his gift", the fact that he has autism. Alan, who has Asperger's syndrome, a form of autism, believes that people on the autistic spectrum have a special insight when it comes to creating beautiful spaces.
In Season One takes on five autists, who are also keen gardeners, to unlock their horticultural potential as they tackle unloved back gardens to fee-paying clients in a bid to transform them into spectacular, magical gardens. In Season Two he works alone, and travels to New York, Los Angeles and Austin in search of garden design inspiration.
